Early Beginnings
Dr Daniel Hu was born and raised in Brisbane, surrounded by the vibrant culture, warm weather, and friendly smiles of this beautiful city. As a child, he never imagined himself wanting to be a dentist when he grew up until he had braces as a teen. Having braces was a life-changing time for Dr Daniel; thanks to the expertise of his orthodontist, his braces gave him more confidence and swapped his crooked teeth with a straighter smile.

Hello to all new and returning patients of Trembath Dental, I’m Daniel and I am thrilled to introduce myself to you as Trembath Dental’s newest dentist. Whether you’re a long-term patient or new to our practice, I am excited to look after you and your dental needs.
Education and Expertise
Dr Daniel studied Dentistry at Griffith University. While he was studying, he was lucky enough to live on the beautifully sunny Gold Coast for five years. As part of his studies, he spent three months in South America attending different programs to further his studies in Dentistry while experiencing a beautiful and vibrant culture. While spending five weeks in Peru, he volunteered at the local University Dental School in Trujillo, and subsequently spent a week in Cusco, where he hiked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu! The Inca Trail hike spanned over four days, and Dr Daniel regards this as one of the most memorable experiences of his life. In the same year, he spent seven weeks in the desert city of Mendoza, Argentina where he treated patients at the local public hospital to further his skills in dentistry and provide support to the local community. This trip deepened his love for the South American culture and, of course, his love for wine. During his travels in Mendoza, Dr Daniel discovered his now favourite variety of red wine, Malbec. You will find him enjoying a glass of lovely Malbec while he is relaxing.
After Dr Daniel completed his university studies, he knew he wanted to learn more about dentistry and immediately dove straight into furthering his education and knowledge to become a more accomplished dentist. Since graduating, he has completed several intensive courses in Orthodontics, Implantology, Restorative Dentistry and Cosmetic Dentistry. He has a keen interest in Orthodontics and Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr Daniel is a certified Invisalign™ practitioner and provides orthodontic services such as fixed braces and removable functional orthodontic appliances.
A Decade of Dedication
For three years of the 10 years that Dr Daniel has practised as a dentist, he has worked part-time congruently as a Clinical Supervisor at, Griffith University (his alma mater) and The University of Queensland Oral Health Centre. Whilst clinical supervision posed challenges at times, Dr Daniel found that it was a fulfilling way that he could give back to the profession, providing dental students with the tools and support they needed to be successful. Dr Daniel still remains in touch with a number of the university students he supervised, who have since graduated and are now working as dentists themselves.
Southeast Brisbane’s Smiling Faces
Since completing his degree, Dr Daniel Hu has been practising mostly in Brisbane’s south-eastern suburbs. Whether it’s a nervous child’s first dental visit, or a long-term patient seeking cosmetic enhancement, he approaches each case with empathy, precision, and a genuine desire to improve oral health. For Dr Daniel, a dental clinic is more than a place for just dental treatment – it’s a place where relationships and bonds are deepened, fears are erased, anxieties are eased, and smiles are restored.
Beyond Dentistry: Fitness and Fun
But wait, there’s more to Dr. Daniel! When he isn’t donning his dentist hat, you may find him at your local gym. Yes, that’s right – he is also a Group Fitness Instructor and teaches group fitness classes at gyms all around Brisbane. Staying active keeps him energised and allows him to connect with local communities in a different way. Plus, it’s a great stress-reliever after a busy day of dentistry!
Keen Interests: Orthodontics and Cosmetic Dentistry
While Dr Daniel loves all aspects of dentistry, there are two areas that truly ignite his passion: Orthodontics and Cosmetic Dentistry. He finds something magical about helping his patients achieve straighter teeth, correct misalignments, and boost their confidence. Dr Daniel himself benefited from this thanks to the expertise and care of his own orthodontist many years ago. After going through orthodontic treatment, he was able to smile and speak with confidence. When it comes to cosmetic enhancements, whether it be teeth whitening, veneers, or smile makeovers, he is like an artist with a canvas, creating beautiful smiles one tooth at a time.
